Voting Information
Two ways to vote Absentee in the February 12 Primary Election
INTERNET/SNAIL MAIL METHOD: Go to: www.elections.state.md.us/voting. Click on “Absentee Voting” in the left column. Download the Absentee Ballot Application by clicking on the underlined words “Absentee Ballot Application” under the heading “How to I request an Absentee Ballot for the 2008 Presidential Elections?” Fill it out, affix a 41 cent stamp and mail to Calvert County Election Board, P.O. Box 798, Prince Frederick, MD 20678, or fax to 410-535-5009. The board will mail you the absentee ballot to fill out and return. NOTE: The Election Board must receive your application by mail by 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 or by 11:59 p.m. if sent by fax.
EASIEST METHOD: If you won’t be here on February 12, you can go to the Election Board’s new location in the old Prince Frederick Library building at 30 Duke Street (across the street from the U.S. Post Office) before February 12 and vote absentee there. The Board is located on the lower level and its’ normal office hours are between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Calvert County Republican Central Committee Precinct Organization
The Precinct Organization is the “grass roots” operating arm of the Republican Party. It recruits and trains volunteers to identify favorable voters and get them to vote.
Each of our 23 precincts needs a precinct captain. The precinct captain recruits and trains “neighborhood leaders” to help get out the vote, and offers the Republican sample ballot to voters on election day.
Each “neighborhood leader” takes responsibility for their neighborhood, encouraging favorable new residents to register to vote and getting a campaign piece, describing all of our Republican candidates, to the neighborhood homes.
